Evergreen Design Build

Evergreen Design Build is the integrated architecture, planning, and construction team responsible for bringing the Estancia Natura vision to life. Led by Chad Wallace and Fernando Cantisano, our Dominican-American team combines decades of architectural, landscape, development, and construction experience with a deeply local understanding of Spirit Mountain’s climate, terrain, culture, materials, and building traditions.

Chad brings more than 30 years of experience designing custom residences, hospitality projects, and master-planned communities in both the Dominican Republic and the United States. His work bridges architecture, landscape architecture, site planning, construction, and experiential hospitality. Fernando brings a distinctly Dominican design perspective, technical skill, architectural visualization, project development, and hands-on construction management. Together, they lead a collaborative team of local engineers, builders, craftsmen, and artisans who understand both the possibilities and practical realities of building in the Dominican highlands.

Evergreen’s design philosophy begins with the land. We do not approach Spirit Mountain with a predetermined architectural style and then impose it on the landscape. Each building is shaped by its setting—topography, views, vegetation, wind, rain, solar orientation, access, and the experience of moving through the property. The goal is architecture that feels inseparable from the mountain: quiet, enduring, and thoughtfully placed.

Our work favors compact footprints, honest materials, natural ventilation, expansive views, efficient off-grid systems, and spaces that encourage people to gather, breathe, and reconnect. Whenever practical, we prioritize locally sourced materials, Dominican craftsmen, passive cooling, renewable energy, responsible water systems, and construction methods that minimize disturbance to the land. Materials are selected not only for beauty, but for durability, maintainability, and long-term performance in a demanding tropical mountain environment.

The Estancia Natura A-Frames are the clearest early expression of this approach. Inspired by the Scandinavian principles of simplicity, functionality, natural materials, fine craftsmanship, and understated detailing, they combine modern comfort with rustic warmth. Open interiors, cross-ventilation, carefully framed views, durable metal cladding, and thoughtful transitions between inside and outside create a sense of relaxed elegance—simple enough to feel grounded and refined enough to feel exceptional.

That same philosophy extends beyond the A-Frame Club to the custom residences of The Reserve, treehouses, hospitality buildings, wellness spaces, and community gathering places planned throughout Estancia Natura. Every project is designed to have its own identity while remaining part of a cohesive architectural language rooted in Spirit Mountain.

As an integrated design-build team, Evergreen remains involved from the earliest site and design conversations through technical documentation, construction supervision, final inspection, and owner handoff. This continuity provides greater coordination, clearer accountability, and careful protection of the original design intent.

We are not simply constructing buildings at Spirit Mountain. We are helping shape a living mountain community—one thoughtful structure at a time
